Background of the figurine

This figurine is inspired by a humorous scene from the Tintin album “Land of Black Gold.” In this adventure, Thomson and Thompson travel through the scorching Middle Eastern desert in their jeep, searching for Tintin.

As they drive through the endless sand dunes, the two detectives are tested by heat and exhaustion. Everywhere they look, mirages appear—illusions they constantly mistake for reality. At one point, they spot what seems to be a sparkling lake. Excited, they change into their red-and-white striped swimsuits to take a refreshing dive.

But as they jump… poof! The water turns out to be sand. A classic, comical scene that perfectly captures the clumsy yet charming nature of this iconic duo.
