Background of the Figurine – Thomson (Jansen) from Tintin and the Land of Black Gold

Against their better judgment, they take it — with unexpected and humorous effects: they begin to burp uncontrollably, and their hair and skin colors change. For Thomson, this results in a striking, long greenish beard, just as depicted in the figurine.

It later becomes clear that the capsule comes from Dr. Müller: not an ordinary medicine, but a mysterious substance connected to a dangerous plot. The discovery of “Formule Fourteen” highlights the fictional yet thrilling stakes of the story.
