Background of the scene

The scene depicted on this puzzle is inspired by a humorous moment from the Tintin album “Land of Black Gold.” In this adventure, Thomson and Thompson are travelling through the scorching deserts of the Middle East in their jeep, searching for Tintin.

As the journey continues, the intense heat starts to take its toll. Everywhere they look, mirages shimmer on the horizon — illusions they constantly mistake for reality.

At one point, they believe they’ve found a refreshing lake. Overjoyed, they change into their red-and-white striped swimsuits and dive right in. But as they leap… poof! — the lake vanishes, and they land in the sand.

A hilarious and unforgettable scene that perfectly captures the clumsy charm of this legendary duo.
