Mouseion Barber - Egbert van Heemskerck Collection Statue -  Parastone - 12 cm

Mouseion Barber. Right in the middle of a chaotic scene, the barber has his patient in a firm hold.

Egbert van Heemskerck (ca.1634-1704) Dutch genre painter who was part of the realistic Dutch tradition.

Attributes: two people positioned on a wooden barrel, which rests on a circular wooden base. The lower character is sitting on top of the barrel with one leg raised and the other resting on the side, wearing a red top under a dark jacket, dark trousers, and dark slip-on shoes. The upper character is the barber, who stands behind the seated figure and leans forward while wearing glasses, a red hat, a dark long-sleeved shirt with red cuffs, and holding an object near the seated character's open mouth.
