Buick 70 Roadmaster Sedan – Tintin and the Land of Black Gold

The background of this 1/24 scale model car refers to a humorous yet action-packed scene from Tintin and the Land of Black Gold. In this adventure, Dr. Müller has kidnapped Abdallah, the mischievous six-year-old son of Emir Ben Kalish Ezab, and is taking him to a secret location somewhere in the Middle Eastern desert.

As they drive across the dunes in their red 1949 Buick 70 Roadmaster, Abdallah sits beside Dr. Müller, constantly irritating him with his pranks. When the doctor finally loses his patience, Abdallah moves to the back seat… and sprinkles itching powder down Müller’s neck.

What follows is pure chaos: Dr. Müller loses control of the car, the Buick shoots off a sand dune, flips over spectacularly, and bursts into flames in the desert heat.

This iconic scene perfectly captures the humor and adventure of Tintin and the Land of Black Gold, making the Buick 70 Roadmaster a must-have for Tintin fans and model car collectors alike.
