In the story, Captain Haddock remains anything but unnoticed when he goes out to buy tobacco. He arrives at the tobacconist in an official service car, accompanied by an escort of heavily armed motorcyclists and with sirens blazing.

This exaggerated and comical scene perfectly highlights the irony and humor of the Tintin universe. Inside the limousine are Captain Haddock, Manolo (the servant and guard), and the driver, recognizable by his characteristic moustache and impeccable green-and-red uniform.
