Mosaic Paperweight - Antoni Gaudí Art Collection - Parastone - 8 x 3,5 cm

Trencadís tilework created by Catalan Modernist architect Antoni Gaudí (and his collaborator Josep Maria Jujol), famously seen throughout Park Güell and Casa Batlló in Barcelona, Spain. The image highlights the distinctive mosaic technique constructed from broken, irregular pieces of ceramic tiles and porcelain, displaying a vibrant array of colors, patterns, and geometric motifs pieced together into a fluid, abstract collage.

The work of the famous Catalan architect, Antoni Gaudí, represents a radical break with austere Neoclassicism. He developed an eclectic but nevertheless very distinctive organic theory of forms and with his art nouveau ornamentation he reintroduced romanticism into architecture. That makes him the master of Catalan Modernism.
